Hello,
my memory is failing me... : ) is this the same message board that used to have the address
http://www.intrepid.net/genealogy/elder/elder_board//index.html
??
if so, is there an archive of old Elder message board posts?
I'm assuming there is somewhere but I can't find it.
thanks for all of your work,
Amelia James

Hi Amelia,
Glad to see you came back!
I'm not sure about message board archives. I know Donna tried several different types of boards over the years. Some of the posts were moved here when she started this one, but I know there were some earlier (1990s) newsgroups that were used which are probably what you are looking for. I will look around online and also in the familytrail files and see if I can find what you need.

I have found archives for old messages when I search
Google.com, so I believe that she re-posted them,
but didn't index them here.
Use Google.com
Search "ELDER NEWS SHARING LIST"
finds:
Elder News Sharing List, Apr, May, Jun 2000<

Subject: [Elder-News]: Elder Immigration
Does anyone have access to ships/immigration lists for Portland,
Maine around 1730.
My Samuel Elder immigrated from Artemore [or ARDAGHMORE?]
, Antrim County, North Ireland to Portland, Maine around 1729 -
1730,
and then settled in the Falmouth, Maine area.
I am trying to find information on ship's name, where it sailed from,
etc...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
David Howard
