Mabel C. (Younkin) Plume

Mabel C. Plume, 79, of Confluence, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the home of her son in Youngstown, Pa. She was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Confluence, a daughter of the late James and Hazel (McNair) Younkin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Plume; and six sisters, Zola Baroni, Jessie Yeager, Jean Burns, Bessie Campbell, Charlotte Smith and Pearl Nicholson. She is survived by four children, William H. Martin and his wife, Agnes, of Youngstown, Pa., Richard Martin and his wife, Lennie, of Austin, Texas, Sandia Hayes and her husband, Lee, of Denver, Colo., and Karen Shipley of Confluence; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Vesta Kirzgavis and her husband, John, of Latrobe; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene and owned and operated Mabel's Restaurant in Confluence for 15 years.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the HUMBERT FUNERAL HOME INC., Confluence, where service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Charles officiating. Interment in Jersey Cemetery.
