Daniel Lee Younkin, 12, of Broadford Road, Connellsville (Upper Tyrone Township), went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, Feb. 29, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Daniel was born in Washington, D.C., Nov. 10, 1987, a son of Cyrus D. Jr. and Leslie J. Fuoss Younkin. Daniel was a member of the Scottdale Assembly of God Church, where he was baptized. He was also affiliated with the Greenwood Heights Church of God in Connellsville.

Daniel attended Southmoreland School District, was a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and was a participant in the Westmoreland County Special Olympics. Daniel is survived by his loving family, his parents, Cy and Leslie Fuoss Younkin; his brother, Joshua Donald Younkin; his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Janet Jacquillard Fuoss of Connellsville RD1; his paternal grandparents, Cyrus Donald and Wilma Saunders Younkin of Wilmington, Del.; his maternal great-grandmothers, Wilma Jacquillard of Scottdale Star Route and Alice Fuoss of Connellsville RD1; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional viewing will be held Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Scottdale Assembly of God Church, Elm and Jennings avenues. Funeral services will follow in the church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Cluck officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will take place in Scottdale Cemetery.
