Hi folks,
RE: Found more living DNA ELDER cousins for "FRANKLIN CO PA" group!
Shouldn't really have to test any of these ELDER descendants,
as I'm sure they will match my brother, the same as descendants of
"Samuel ELDER, d. 1811 TN"
"Jacob ELDER d. 1818" (kit #20638),
also John S. ELDER of TN (kit #85035), and
ANN ELDER BROOKS POE's cousins in Sevier Co TN (#13706, #23663).

Guy F. ELDER
Washington -- Guy F. Elder, 88, Washington, died Friday at a
Washington hospital [Kansas].
He was born Aug. 8, 1891, near Haddam,
the son of Harry F. and Addie Pursley Elder.
Mr. Elder was a retired farmer and lived in Washington County most
of his life.
He married Inez Hazel Frager in 1916. She died Nov. 27, 1958.
He married Viola Durst on June 12, 1959, at Morrowville. She
survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois Dickerson, in Texas;
four sons, Floyd Elder and Clifford Elder, both of Morrowville,
Russell Elder, Sweet Home, Ore., and Clyde Elder, College Place,
Ore.;
four sisters. Mrs. Anna Decker, Hollenberg, Mrs. Beulah Stamm and
Mrs. Lola Mahlman, both of Washington, and Mrs. Alma Brandon, Topeka;
25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ward Funeral Home,
Washington. Burial will be in Washington City Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to Indian Affairs in care of the funeral
home.

Obit 1980
Guy Franklin Elder, son of Harry Franklin and Addie Pursley Elder
was born Aug. 8, 1891, near Haddam, Kan., and died May 30, 1980, at
Washington county hospital at the age of 88 years, 9 months, 22 days.
Guy spent most of his life farming, a vocation at which he
excelled and which he enjoyed. In addition to serving on school and
township boards, he was always ready with assistance and compassion
for those in need.
His grandchildren will cherish the memories of grandpa's violin
playing, and his rich variety of well-related stories of growing up
in Kansas.
Guy married Inez Hazel Frager in 1916, and the couple had six
children:
Russell, Clyde, Gerald, Floyd, Clifford and Lois.
On Nov. 27, 1958, his wife Inez passed away.
He married Viola Yeager Durst on June 12, 1959, later moving to
Washington where the couple retired.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son Gerald;
his first wife Inez;
three brothers and two sisters:
Glen, Harry, Donald, Eva Phelps and Hazel Stamm.
Surviving are his wife Viola;
one daughter, Lois Dickerson of Weslaco, Texas;
four sons:
Russell, Sweet Home, Ore.; [now Lebanon, Ore]
Clyde, College Place, Wash.;
Floyd and Clifford, Morrowville;
Twenty-five grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren;
Four sisters: Anna Decker of Hollenberg; Beaulah Stamm of
Washington; Alma Brandon of Topeka; Lola Mahlman of Washington.
Also the children from Viola's first marriage:
Harold Durst, Emporia; Margaret Smith, Lincoln, Neb.; Duane Durst,
Washington; Gerald Durst, Virginia, Neb.;
12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were Tuesday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at Ward Funeral
Home, Washington, with Pastor Larry blue officiating. Music was by
Dr. James Smart, soloist, and Mrs. Sheila Ouellette, organist.
Interment was in Washington City Cemetery. Casket bearers were
Rick Tegethoff, Mike Dickerson, Leslie Elder, Kevin Elder, Terry
Thompson Jerry Capps.
