Our Book Club is reading "AT THE WATER'S EDGE" by SARA GRUEN, fiction set in GLENURQUHART near Loch Ness and south of Inverness, Scotland.
In the ELDER DNA project we have a matching surname McINTOSH, Y-DNA kit #295350, ancestor listed as "Robert McINTOSH of GLENURQUHART," who immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1801.
His kit matches my brother's ELDER Y-DNA, #10042 in "FRANKLIN CO PA" chart, along with matching McPHERSON kits and others.
ELDER and McPHERSON names are found in Nova Scotia.
ELDER and McPHERSON names are common around Inverness, Scotland,
where Clan Mackintosh is known to have ancient headquarters.
"The GLEN OF URQUHART runs from Loch Ness at Urquhart Bay in the east to Corrimony and beyond in the west.
The River Enrick runs along its length, passing through Loch Meiklie."

Castle notes:
"A 16th-century water gate in the eastern wall of the Upper Bailey gives access to the shore of the loch...."
