Hello,
Some time ago I posted a question about Mary Huston (see Yippee! Maine Elders, (i think : )
I wanted to know where people had gotten her first name from.

Since that time, on a trip to the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Ind., I found a reference to an article in the Maine Genealogist, titled;

The Houston/Huston Families of Falmouth, Maine
by Kathleen Canney Barber and Janet Ireland Delorey
The Maine Genealogist
Journal of the Maine Genealogical Society
v.25 no.4 Nov. 2003 and v.26 no.1 Feb.2004

They make a good case for her as the wife of our Samuel Elder. It is not definite, but very likely.

I have since posted my family tree in a php format at:

http://www.remleml.com/mambo/phpGedView/

you can see excerpts from the article by pulling down the 'Lists' menu, click on 'Source List' and scroll down to *Houston-Huston Families of Falmouth ‎(S151)

I hope it is okay with the authors that I have posted this excerpt. The article is fully sourced... so I'm hoping that is okay. If anyone sees a problem with that, please let me know and I will remove the excerpts immediately.

as I note on the Welcome page to the php site, my file is very much a work in progress. I hope to be updating cleaned up versions of the file regularly.

Thank you to CiCi Elder for seeing the site and reminding me to post a link here. Also, thank you to her and Nancy for all their work on the message board. Hopefully I will have more information to post soon : )

thanks,
Amelia James

Hi Amelia,
Thanks for the postings. It's great

Hello Nancy : )

thanks for letting me know. Very exciting. I wanted to let people know that I have a new web site up. Eventually the old site at

http://www.remleml.com/mambo/phpGedView/

will automatically re-direct people to the new site at

http://www.remleml.com/family

There is a message forum at the new site, but I haven't really used it yet... It was put up as a temporary measure until I can get a guest book. You can either post a message there or send me a direct e-mail at
ajames AT artic.edu

Both the new site and the message board shouldn't require any log in, but there may be some things on the site that the computer has made private (because there is no date of birth, so the computer thinks the people are still living : ) If there is something you want to see but it is private, there is a guest log in you can use. User name 'guest' password 'thiele' That should take care of anything that is inaccessible.

thanks again Nancy for letting me know about Ken and Gretchen's post.
