"RELATIVE GENETICS" - another big DNA company in Utah, announces:
"DNA genealogy services formerly provided by Relative Genetics will
be offered through"
[in the next several months].

FAQ page on Relative Genetics website,

Selections that might affect the ELDER DNA project:

"What if I already had my DNA tested with another DNA company other
than Relative Genetics?" will support DNA results provided by other DNA
testing companies. While other companies may not test the exact same
markers, you can add your results and compare them with others in the DNA database.

Relative Genetics will migrate its customer information to and the Relative Genetics' Web site will be phased out
by the end of 2007.

RELATIVE GENETICS company will send all results to
(Except if PRIVACY is chosen on your free account) plans to begin hosting surname projects beginning fall
of 2007.

When will's DNA service become available? is working hard to add DNA testing services and site
integration to their current product. hopes to have DNA
functionality available within the next few months and will be sure
to keep you informed on the status of the transition of your DNA
results and information.

What tests will be offered through Ancestry's DNA service?
At launch, plans to offer both Y chromosome testing
for paternal line analysis and mitochondrial DNA testing for maternal
line analysis.

One positive attitude to the DNA announcement
for ANCESTRY.COM -- hoping for the best....

>As a dedicated Ancestry subscriber
(you can not beat $1.00 a day for the joy that I get out of
ancestry!), I am taking a look and see attitude towards all of this.
The first time I used my Ancestry subscription I found my great great
grandparents and their five children landing at the Port of New York
on 7 January 1851.
> I have been sold on it ever since.
>I have tested with National Genographic and FT DNA so would have to
upload my results if I am to see them on Ancestry but I will be able
to see the results of people who match me which could prove to be
most interesting.
[Hosting] two DNA surname projects now and two mtDNA projects, I
think there is a marvelous opportunity to encourage DNA testing.
Simply "lifting" the results of someone whose name matches yours may
be tempting but in the long run curiosity will likely overcome people
and they will need to know if they truly match (or do not match on
the other hand [Smile] ).

Another positive opinion posted 6/18/07:
Ann Turner, author of a well-written Genealogy-DNA book, who
writes about her own "RELATIVE GENETICS" info:

>I just checked the records I had submitted,
and I do see the opt-in, opt-out radio buttons.
>I also saw an error in my data entry, so I corrected that toute
> I'm willing to opt-in, so I can act as a guinea pig to see what
transpires after the transfer.
