Compiled by Kenneth W. Dobyns (1980)
Updated, expanded, and retitled in 1997 to include material compiled by Della Effrie Mason Sublett (1895-1985) taken from a copy of her manuscript compilation which came into my possession after her death. Subsequently updated from time to time.

Thanks Nancy, It`s amazing how much info you come up with! Here is a blog were working on and will be trying to tell about the elder family that lived her as we find out more about them. To my amazement I was at the local grocer this week and in a small eating area by the deli, I noticet some old photos on the wall of Trenton and went over to take a look. amongst them was a photo of four distinguished lawyers in front of their office and one of them was an Elder. dated 1916. I believe that I read somewhere that Benjmin Elder was a lawyer. Love this town and the history in it. Donald Mitchellhttp://teapottreasure.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the Blog page--It's great!
I also like the Teapots!

Interesting that there is an ELDER family of
ceramics potters who came from Scotland to Cincinnati about 1870,
then moved to TRENTON, NJ about 1900.

I've been posting notes about them on my webpages:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~nancyelder/ed/JohnElderTrentonNJ.htm

A volunteer sent us a photo of the ELDER
cemetery stone in Trenton, NJ which says:
James ELDER
A Native of Gallatown
Fifeshire Scotland
born Jan 6, 1842
Died Nov 19, 1895
at rest
his wife
ELIZABETH
Native of Scotland
died
May 2, 1907
Aged 66 years

Note: Gallatown is listed with Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkcaldy
"Kirkcaldy (pronounced kir-kawdy) is the largest town in Fife, Scotland....
The town lies on the north bank of the Firth of Forth.
The former burghs of Dysart, Linktown and Pathhead, and the
villages of Sinclairtown and Gallatown are now incorporated into Kirkcaldy."
