Good news!!
The National Geographic DNA project
is already helping our ELDER group!
Press release from University of Arizona posted here:
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=22895#

I sent some e-mail queries to ELDER names in Scotland today, mentioning
the National Geographic DNA project,
and I quickly received an answer
from an ELDER who had already
ordered a DNA kit from National Geographic!
I believe we'll be able to compare
his markers on our chart, as they
will be analyzed in the same FamilyTreeDNA lab as our project.
I asked him to send a few of the earliest names and locations from
his genealogy, so we can keep track
of the Scotland lines.

2/11/06 - Native Scot, M. ELDER sent his
National Geographic DNA results,
matching 10/12 with Franklin Co PA group:
In FTDNA order:
13 24 14 10 8 14 12 12 12 13 13 29

Entered on YSEARCH.ORG
with IDENTIFIER: X4KJ9

Use COMPARE on YSEARCH columns,
to check markers with other ELDER names.
http://www.ysearch.org

Also asked Katherine Hope Borges
if she could enter his markers
for "R1b" with other ELDER names of FRANKLIN CO PA,
on the "SCOTLAND DNA" chart, color coded for
COLLA UAIS, Scots founder. Should be next to
WILLIAMS, before the PETER ELDER entry (D. ELDER).
