Hooray!
A new SCOTLAND DNA project is now online, started yesterday
(12/15/05) at FamilyTreeDNA.com by Katherine Hope Borges!
See her new SCOTLAND DNA webpage for info:
http://www.ourfamilyorigins.com/scotland/dna.htm
News: 12/24/05
We now have 6 ELDER DNA participants entered from their JOIN
FTDNA option as free "2nd projects."
The chart already shows some interesting matches, especially
with the SUTHERLAND of Dornoch, Sutherland Co Scotland,
who shows up as 24/25 match to my brother (ELDER DNA kit #1),
and 25/25 match to our Lawrence Co PA participant (#30 on our chart).
Then the Robert ELDER of Paxtang (#21-Elder's Ridge branch) shows up
further on the chart, with his different markers.
Added our Paxtang #13, 15 matching #21.
Sure hope some Scotland ELDER folks will notice that chart and
make some new matches! _________________ Nancy Elder Petersen

Hooray!
Dr. Faux, a genetics researcher, just sent his Y-DNA numbers to the Scotland DNA project.
They show up on the Scotland chart, but Katherine hasn't added his ancestry yet.
Posted here:

He wrote another message on the Genealogy-DNA List today that sounds like he ordered his mtDNA, with some other tests I don't know much about, but that should be interesting, too! (see below).
I counted his "same" markers against my brother's (#10042) on the Scotland chart, and they are really far away, even tho the FAUX name comes in the middle of the chart at the moment!
I counted 8/12, 15/25, 22/37 numbers alike.
Then I counted his markers against Robert Scott Elder's (#17814) Paxtang group.
His were even worse!
I counted 2/12, 6/25, 8/37 numbers alike!
I hope Dr. Faux tries to analyze those already!
I'm glad we have some 37 marker sets for both Franklin Co and Paxtang, to keep up with the analysis of the crowd here!
