ELDER DNA news for Nov. 21, 2004:
Comparing the new DNA statistics which FamilyTreeDNA.com
has just added to our Group Administration pages.
New column is labelled
"Genetic Distance" with a page for new percentages figured
"to years of Common Ancestor"
compared to all of the other ELDER group members.
At end of the page for my brother's kit #1,
showing the 37 marker matches, they
are really close percentages
compared to Kit #2, #5, #22 (closest of all).
I'm glad we tried those 37 marker tests!
Kit #2-3 are the same on the 25 marker test,
so probably would be same on the 37 if we had ordered that for #3.
Looking at years of 1600, 1500, 1400, that
still seems to place our "Common Ancestor" in Ireland or Scotland,
using the research so far on our geographic paper trails.
New Percentages:
Kit #2 "James ELDER d. 1843 Randolph Co NC"
within 400 years (1600) 91.82 %
within 500 years (1500) 97.36 %
within 600 years (1400) 99.22 %
Kit #5 "George ELDER d. 1800 Bedford Co PA"
within 400 years (1600) 92.92 %
within 500 years (1500) 97.84 %
within 600 years (1400) 99.40 %
Kit #22 "Robert ELDER d. 1807 Franklin Co PA"
within 400 years (1600) 99.49 %
within 500 years (1500) 99.90 %
within 600 years (1400) 99.98 %
