Still adding Comments to Mixed-up Ancestry TREES:

"As Host of the ELDER DNA project,  I have been working with the ELDER researchers of "PAXTANG PA" to study their different Y-DNA.
Descendants of "PAXTANG PA" families are discovered to be in the "I=Viking Scots = "IslesSc" Haplogroup, while my brother of "FRANKLIN CO PA" Y-DNA is found in a completely different  Haplogroup, titled "R1b."

This impacts the genealogy lists of everyone who has combined the 2 DNA groups,  using the old "Pennsylvania Genealogies" histories.

For example, the first ROBERT ELDER (b. 1679 Scotland - d. 1746 PAXTANG PA) is from the group I have titled: "PAXTANG PA" DNA,
while our ROBERT ELDER (1730-1807) is from "FRANKLIN CO PA" DNA, so they are not related by direct ELDER male ancestry.

Adding COMMENT to "Wrong Robert" entries to show document:
"From A letter to Mrs. Grier"
(From 116 Spruce St, Philadelphia, July 16, 1919) - Gillispie Papers, FC EL - Historical Society  of Pennsylvania, Phila. ....
"I have at hand a copy of the Bible record of the Reverend John Elder in which is given the date of birth of his son Robert as Friday June 11, 1742. This Robert lived in Swartara Twp, a later division of Lower Paxton, Dauphin Co. He was married by his father on Feb 7, 1769 to Mary J. Thompson. He served in both the Provincial and Revolutionary period with his father and was the Colonel in command of the Dauphin County troops in the War for Independence. He died Sept 19, 1818 and was buried beside his wife who had predeceased him some five years, in the church yard adjoining the Paxtang church of which he was long a ruling elder. He apparently had no children nor grand-children as his estate which was large was bequeathed to nieces and nephews. He always lived in this locality and in 1813 signed off a release to his brothers for his share of his fathers estate as settled in full. ....there is no record of any children and ample proof he died childless."
